Final report

I believe that the final report is to handed in by tomorrow. Honestly, it's done really well. I apologise for not contributing a lot and I will accept any marks given to me. I also apologise for the second time we did the project. I wasn't at home that whole week as I was away for some family matters. I believe Shaun has been doing most of the things and we should give him a big round of applause. The results are really not expected. I guess that was what the experiment is for! We shall all strive for good results together for the last round (the presentation) All the way!

Experiment Report (Final)

I heard Shaun has compiled all the photos for Unrefrigerated and Refrigerated results. I think we have to print in black and white though.
I think we could have improved our experiment by being more clear in the presentation of results and being more decisive. What do you think?

Final Report due..

Hey everyone, final report is due next monday. things to improve on are:
1. Put in Results with graph and table (if applicable)
2. Analysis in result discussion

As of now..

okay guys, this is the situation we are in.

Repeat experiment is in progress. Daphne has the orange juice left in the open. The refrigerated one is with me.
OUR MAJOR PROBLEM : INDICATOR SOLUTION CHANGES COLOUR, FROM DARK BLUE TO PURPLE.

Blog updates: I am going to delete the photos of our experiment earlier, so as to tidy up the blog.
Draft Report: Mr Thomas says we can re-do. So what I have done, along with Benedict's help is to compile all our progress into a document and will submit on thursday.

Hope this helps. Please update as necessary. Current experiment photos will be posted when the experiment is completed.

Expeiment Repeat in progress.

Hi everyone. Today we have restarted the experiment. The coming Saturday and Sunday we will have to leave the stuff in the lab. So we expect a bigger difference in colour through the weekend break.
We might be able to bring the things back and do at home. Will update after today's experiment.

We have to redo?

Yea... I think we should redo but do we have the time to do it? when is the whole thing due? will we be able to make it? Also, i do agree that we didn't do it as accurate. So we have to set the time?

Saturday, 9 July 2011

will we have to start the experiment again?
cause i think we didn't do it at a fixed interval.

Experiment Procedure Clip.

Here is the full video of experiment procedure. Sorry for the poor video quality.

Update: Day 3

Here is the update for day 3. Sorry it came a day late. blogger had problems with the server.
This is the refrigerated result.

Will we have to start doing the powerpoint?
And, will we need to do a graph chart or something to compare the differences?

Day 3: Update

Today, the refrigerated juice seems to have a loss in Vitamin C. The solution was more bluish in colour. We did the test a few times but seems like the results were about the same. So we can all conclude that there was a slight decrease in the amount of Vitamin C. I won't be able to go to school for Thursday and Friday! So you guys keep the blog updated!! ;)

Adding to Shaun's posts

After Day 2, we then conclude that the beaker that is left UNREFRIGERATED and UNSEALED lost more vitamin C. It is clearly shown in the picture. We put the test tube with the original iodine beside the solution with the juice to show the change. Honestly, i never thought there would be such a huge difference in colour. I guess this experiment proved everybody wrong. We'll all be looking forward to the results of Day3 to see if their are any changes! :)

Finally managed to get the proposal form in! Not sure if it can be seen though. Will post it up somewhere else and make a link just in case.

Update: Day 2 (2)

Here is the second product, it shows the result of the refrigerated orange juice.

Adding of Orange Juice to Indicator Solution

Here is a video of the adding process. A more complete version will be filmed tomorrow.

Updates: Day 2 (1)

Here is the first product of the experiment. It was obtained from the unrefrigerated orange juice left on the table.

Procedure Update (1)

Ok this is our plan.

First, we have one beaker that we leave on the table at the science lab. We use 10 drops of orange juice from this beaker every day. Note, this beaker is UNREFRIGERATED and UNSEALED.

Two, we have one big beaker that we leave unsealed in the refrigerator. We use 10 drops of orange juice from this beaker every day. Note, this beaker is REFRIGERATED and UNSEALED.

Update: Day 2

Experiment went well today. Can finish in 10-15 minutes really. Will post the video and pictures later.
Tomorrow Jiaxi, Daphne and I will be coming down.

Update: Day 1

We started on the project today and it went well! We bought a bit too much orange but it's wasn't the problem. It was really cool how the colour changed when juice was added into the starch solution. I took down some photo and videos. it's really cool. In the photo below, the blue solution is the original colour of the indicator. The other one is the solution after the additional of juice. It was really amazing how the colour change. We shall see whether there is any change the next day. I'll keep the blog updated. :)

Proposal Form (2)

Oh by the way guys, regarding our proposal form, although it has been approved etc etc, I really can't get it up onto our blog! I've been trying my best and will continue, and hopefully there'll be a breakthrough soon.

Another thing, i think Daphne deserves a big hand for getting all of us on our feet and spearheading our project! Well done to Benedict too! Both you guys did great kicking off our experiment.

Preference Of Dates

I think we have to do the experiment on the last week Because Shaun isn't available for the first 3 weeks. i guess last week is when everyone is free. Or maybe from 16th to 20th is ok. Cos not everyone have to be present when we do. What do you guys say?

Competition Dates

Please post your competition dates and holiday plans down below so we can plan out a solid week for the project, thanks.

Proposal Form Progress (2)

Proposal form was approved last week. Sorry for the late upload. My printer is having some problems so I can't scan the hardcopy in. Anyway, Daphne and Benedict are currently having competition, so when is it possible to get the project done? I was hoping 1 week to complete and a second one to ensure dependability of results if possible. What do you think?
